River ?
The further you go, the stronger force holds you back home
I know this course
For many times, I sit in front of Meili Mountain
It appears to me that nothing has changed her
Her tears gently trickle into Lancang River which leads to my hometown
When I was a child, my elder pals showed me to cool down soft drinks and beers by burying them in the sand on the bank
Masses of reeds near the river were where we courted on the sly
Nowadays young couples need not hide in the reeds.
They are allowed to hug and kiss in public
On the banks there develop vast of concrete forests
They are growing wildly like Chinese chives
A showdown between elephants and steel cranes
You would definitely know how it ends
Elderly Dai women who sell fruits and steamed sticky rice along the streets
are trying to communicate with people in heavily accented Mandarin
Lancang is still cool , however no one no longer bury beers in the sand
